A loan of $2,000 helped to pay for forage for his livestock.

Artur's story

Artur is from Vahagni village. He lives with his mother, wife and three grown children (two sons and a 17-year-old daughter). Artur is a farmer. He owns a small but beautiful farm, which helps him to gather income and sustain his family's life. Artur keeps six cows and six calves and is involved in some small cultivation of potatoes. Artur's sons greatly assist their father with the farming activities and, despite their young age, are very good farmers. Now, because of the hard financial difficulties that he faces, Artur isn't able to purchase forage to feed the livestock. So that's the reason he applied for this loan. Artur has already taken out a loan from a local financial institution, but unfortunately wasn't able to repay it. However, thanks to his hard work during recent years, Artur and his family were able to run their agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that they will be able to cover monthly payments. So, he has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international, which provides a second-chance loan to people who have a bad credit history and no access to credit. Artur is sure that his Kiva loan will improve his faming business and he hopes for the lenders' support.
