A loan of $975 helped to buy cows.

Churok's story

Churok is 58 years old, married and raising 6 children together with her husband. Two of the oldest sons live and work in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, and the rest of the children live with the parents. Churok has a secondary education. To provide the primary source of income for her family, she is involved in animal husbandry, having started 39 years ago with a purchase of livestock with 300 som (KGS). Churok and her husband spent a long time working as shepherds, taking local residents' livestock to pasture for a set fee, and, hence, have a lot of experience in animal husbandry. Thanks to Churok's hard work, today her business contains 4 dairy cows and 45 sheep. The monthly income amounts to 10,000 som (KGS). In order to further develop her business, Churok requested a loan from the microfinance bank "Bai-Tushum and Partners" to buy cows in order to increase livestock headcount. Churok plans to invest the earnings from the loan into further increasing domestic livestock quantities and saving money to build a new house.
