A loan of $1,150 helped to buy an additional buffalo for producing milk.

Naseem's story

Naseem is 54 years old, and lives with her seven children in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She has been working in dairy farming for many years and has made a reasonable income for her family. Her forefather worked in the same business for many years and her husband inherited all of the buffaloes.

Naseem's whole family are involved in the milk selling business, and all of them contribute to the monthly expenses according to their incomes. All of her family members participate with the tasks assigned to them e.g. her two sons milk the buffaloes, one of them sells the milk to the retailers, one son takes the herd to the pastures for grazing and her three daughters prepare fodder for the herd. She herself sells milk at the front of her house, and also provides door to door milk to her customers.

Her two sons have got married, and they have to support their own families as well. Due to the increased number of family members, she wants to grow her family’s business as well.

Naseem has therefore requested a Kiva loan so she can buy an additional buffalo to meet the monthly expenses satisfactorily, and spend her life happily among her family members.

She thanks Kiva and the field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
