Guallapugro (Nabón) Group's story

The communal bank Gullanpugro is made up of 7 women and 1 man who live near the Nabón canton. This area has a cold climate and beautiful scenery thanks to the rocky geography. It's architecture is a mix of ancient and modern. The group members along with most of the local citizens work raising animals, farming, and in business. Many work in the city, as well. They work every day to support their families while keeping their culture and traditions alive.

One of the group members is Maritza, who is asking for her 4th loan. She likes the group because she has the chance to be with her friends and talk with them about things they are interested in, which they normally don't get to do due to their jobs.

Maritza is 23 years old, is married, and has 2 children (ages 5 and 3) from her marriage. Her first son is enrolled in a small school in her town. Her husband is a bricklayer and they own the house that they live in.

Maritza spends most of her time at home but she is a hardworking woman who works hard in the fields planting. The harvest is sold and also used at home. in addition, she raises pigs, sheep, guinea pigs, and cattle.

Her latest loan is so she can buy pigs, guinea pigs, and feed for her animals. In this way, she will continue growing her business. Her goal is to grow her business.

In this group: Digna María, Martha Lucia, Maritza Yolanda, María Elisa, Lauro Gonzalo, Luisa Esperanza, María Angelita, María Carmen
