A loan of $2,000 helped to pay for 15 sheep and forage for feeding them.

Bavakan's story

Bavakan lives in Lernamerdz village with her two sons, a daughter-in-law and two little grandchildren. She runs a farm. It currently includes a livestock of cows, sheep, and chickens and she also cultivates tomatoes, greens and grass for the livestock. Bavakan and her sons work hard to have a profitable farm that will provide an income for their living. By applying for this loan Bavakan would like to enlarge her farm. She plans to purchase 15 more sheep and forage for feeding them. Bavakan hopes that Kiva lenders will support her agribusiness and she will be very grateful to them. As this is Bavakan's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products in the past because they have no credit history.
