Nosethu's story

Nosethu is a Business Management student at the Maharishi Institute. Nosethu is 25 years old and was asked the following questions by a staff member of the Institute:

What do you study at the Maharishi Institute and what classes do you enjoy most?
“I am studying for a Bachelor of Business Administration. The classes I enjoy the most are the Science of Creative Intelligence classes as they develop the self, which helps me to focus on my other classes.”

What are your goals after Graduation?
“After graduation I would like to work in Human Resources, eventually becoming an HR Manager, as I love working with people. I would like to initially work in Johannesburg but I would love to travel one day too.”

Tell us about your background?
“I was born in the rural area of Port St John’s in the Eastern Cape. I am the third born of four children. My oldest brother is working in a shop but my other two siblings are not working. My sister just completed Grade 12, but at this stage, she can’t afford to study further. My mother works in a local hotel and my father is a merchandiser in a wholesale shop. I am not married, but I have a 5-year old daughter.”

What do you do in your spare time?
“I enjoy reading and writing poetry during my free time. I also love just spending time thinking with no one around, as that keeps me calm and allows me to think about my life in general.”

How will the Kiva Loan change your life?
“Due to my disadvantaged background, a Kiva loan will relieve the stress caused by my financial problems. It will enable me to focus better on my studies.”
