A loan of $1,075 helped to purchase feed for fattening her animals.

Elki Rubi's story

Elki Rubi is 32 years old. She lives with her two children and her husband in the district of Oyotún, a community which makes a living from agriculture, especially from planting rice, corn, and cotton. It is located two hours away from the city of Chiclayo, which belongs to the Lambayeque region on the north coast of Peru.

She and her husband have made a living by breeding and selling minor species, such as ducks, roosters, hens, chickens, turkeys, and pigs for more than ten years. Elki Rubi has requested a loan of 3,000 PEN in order to purchase feed to fatten her animals and offer them to her clients at a greater price.
