A loan of $1,425 helped to buy chickens.

Mery Isabel's story

The credit group Nueva Alianza meets every fifteen days In the canton of Pichincha. This is a dynamic area where most of its inhabitants work in agriculture and animal husbandry. It is a region with a lot of vegetation, with a river running through it which is favorable for crops.

This is where Mery lives. She is 52 years old and is in a committed relationship from which she has eight grown children, three of whom still live with her. Her husband is in business. Mery is a very good woman who is requesting the loan so that her husband can use the money for his business. He buys and sells chickens. He travels to the nearby countryside to buy slaughtered chickens which he then sells in the city to restaurants or local individuals. He has been doing this for 30 years and it has allowed him to raise his family.

This loan is for the purchase of chickens. Mery has been with the Credit Group for two years, and she likes it because the loans allow her to help her husband. Her dream is to have a grocery store.
