José Julio
José is 75 years old. He has four children who no longer live with him. He is dedicated to his work, and in spite of his age, he wants to work hard to help his wife, who is a homemaker. Their only income is from José growing and selling corn, which is how the family sustains itself.

He has several years of experience in growing corn and selling sweet corn. From growing corn, José also takes advantage of the leftovers to feed himself and his cattle. He will invest this loan in purchasing ears of sweet corn which he will later sell, and in cultivating 32 hectares of corn by purchasing fertilizer, seed, and labor.

He wants to expand his purchase and sales of sweet corn in order to learn a little more income. The loan will help him to grow corn and be able to sell sweet corn.

Jose tiene 75 años de edad, esta acompañado tiene 4 hijos los cuales no viven con el. Él es una persona dedicada al trabajo y a pesar de la edad tiene un buen deseo de trabajar para sacar adelante a su esposa, ella solo se dedica a los oficios del hogar el único ingreso que obtiene José es la comercialización y cultivo de elote el cual le da el sustento económico que él y su familia necesita.

Él ya tiene varios años de trabajar en el cultivo del maíz y en la comercialización del elote. Del cultivo del maíz José aprovecha el sacate que le queda para darle alimentación y cuido al ganado que él tiene. Él estará invirtiendo el préstamo, en la compra de redes de elote para después comercializarlo y también lo invertir en el cultivo de 32 hectáreas de maíz como en la compra de fertilizante, semilla, mano de obra.

Él desea ampliar mas la comercialización y compra del elote, para tener un poco mas de ingresos en su hogar; el prestamos adquirido le ayudara a cultivar el maíz y poder comercializar el elote.

This loan is part of a CrediCampo project to help rural farmers living in extreme poverty plant basic grains to feed their families. Excess product is sold on the local market. These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
