A loan of $500 helped to buy corn to make pupusas and buy drinks to buy more product to sell.

Fidelina's story

Fidelina is 63 years old. She is well-known in her neighborhood. She lives with a son who is 30 years old. He is married and has a 6 month old daughter. A 12 year old grandson also lives with her. He is studying. They are a family that works in distinct activities. Fidelina and her daughter-in-law sell pupusas (traditional Salvadorean food) from her house. Her son works as a motorcycle taxi driver. She also has a daughter in the United States who supports her a lot with some of the things she needs. Fidelina has 20 years experience selling pupusas. She also sells drinks like natural juices and soft drinks. These generate a good profit margin. She also sells fireworks in the Christmas season and this is another source of money for the household. The loan she is requesting from CREDICAMPO is to buy corn in order to make the dough to make pupusas and also to buy drinks to have a bit more product to sell. She mentions that in the future she will continue to work with the institution as she needs to fix the oven that she has in her house.
