A loan of $600 helped to buy and resell 14 enhanced fire burners, three gas fires and 12 solar lamps.

Fatimata's story

Fatimata lives in the Pissy district of the town of Ouagodougou and has been buying and selling "pagnes" (colorful pieces of fabric), shoes and babies' clothes for six months. She is 33 years old, married and mother to two children who are both at primary school. She would like to take advantage of her customer base, which is made up mainly of women, to sell energy products (enhanced fire burners, gas fires and solar lamps) so that she can diversify her income to improve her business, as well as her own and her family's living conditions. She will buy 14 enhanced fire burners, three gas fires and 12 solar lamps from Nafa Naana, an energy products' supplier, so that she can begin a retail business. Nafa Naana is a social company whose mission is to facilitate access to energy products in order to improve people's living conditions in Burkina Faso. It has a retail network of shop owners and women like Fatimata who have small businesses.

The total amount of Fatimata's bill is 284,900FCFA, which she is unable to pay. A loan of this amount would enable her to begin her activity and generate additional income for her business and to contribute to her co-spouses' cooking, to the improvement of their health and the protection of the environment.
