Marie Madeleine's Group's story

This group was created in November 2012. Its members live in the same neighborhood and work as vendors.

Marie, the one raising her hand on the right in the photo, is the group’s leader. She is 44 years old and the mother of two children, 18 and 22 years old. Her eldest child now studies at the university. Her business is making juice. She uses baobab fruit (“monkey bread”), millet and peanuts to make juice.
With this loan, she plans to buy millet for 250000 West African francs, baobab fruit for 25,000 francs and peanuts for 25,000 francs. Her goal is to be able to regularly pay her waters and electricity bills and provide for the food and educational costs for her children.
