A loan of $250 helped to purchase more cooking oil, rice and seasonings to expand her business.

Mariatu's story

Meet 40-year-old Mariatu from Tombo, a western rural area of Freetown, in Sierra Leone. She is married with three children. Two of her children are currently going to school.

After she got married, Mariatu established her local food business because she wanted to strive for her daily bread. She works at the business seven days per week. She says her business is doing well because, out of her profits, she is able to take care of her family.

Mariatu requires a loan to purchase more cooking oil, rice and seasonings to expand her business. She hopes that the extra income generated by this loan will enable her to pay her children's school fees and increase her business.

In the future, Mariatu plans to expand her business more than ever. She thanks you for your support.
