Ya Alimamy's story

Meet 28-year-old Ya Alimamy from Waterloo2, western rural area in Freetown. She is married with two children. In 2010, Ya Alimamy established her slippers business. She began her business because she wanted to empower herself and her children. She works at the business from 8am until 5.30pm, seven days per week. She says that the main challenges to her business are insufficient capital to expand her business.

Ya Alimamy require a loan in order to purchase variety of plastic slippers for resale. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to educate her children and increase her business.
