A loan of $6,000 helped a member to buy a new sewing machine, iron, table, and fabric and to renovate their workplace.

Ashti's Group's story

Ashti is a member of this group from Iraq. Ashti is 54 years old, married and has five children. She is one of the many Iraqi women who are working from home, using her sewing skills to generate additional income and participate in meeting the financial needs of her family.

She has fourteen years of experience with her home-based sewing business, and to improve the quality of the service to her customers as well as improve her work conditions, she would like to buy a new sewing machine, iron, table, and fabric and to renovate her workplace.

She aims to open a big place for sewing and to continue assisting her husband with the additional income to provide a better life for her children.

The story of Ashti and her business is just one of the many examples from Izdiharona for Economic Development clients.

They preferred to blur their faces for cultural reasons.

In this group: Ashti, Gula, Shilan
