Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $600 helped to pay the hospital expenses for surgery on his back.

Mahmoud's story

Mahmoud is a 29-year-old, married man from Gaza city. He lives with his wife and one son in a small, simple house. Mahmoud is an employee in a local firm where he gets a low income. This is the only source of income of the family. Mahmoud has a problem in his back and he can't work. He needs to have an urgent surgery, but he does not have enough money.

Mahmoud took a USD loan from Palestine for Credit & Development (FATEN). This loan will help him to pay the hospital expenses for the surgery on his back. By taking this loan, Mahmoud will be able to treat his back and get back to work, as soon as possible.
