A loan of $2,175 helped a member to cover the initial cost of purchasing the seeds and fertilizer for her cropland.


Mira Ambika Shg Group's story

The "Mira Ambika Shg" group consists of nine members from a small village of Jajpur district, Odisha, India, with Tikili selected as the Kiva representative. Tikili has volunteered to be the Kiva group representative; in the photo she is standing with her hand raised.

Tikili is 35 years old and has been a farmer for ten years. Tikili works as a farmer to provide a standard life for her two children. The community and other farmers know Tikili as friendly, hardworking, reliable, trustworthy and an experienced farmer. Tikili described her harvest last year as good, but hopes she can have an even better one with the support of the People's Forum and the other farmers in her group.

Tikili will use her Kiva loan portion to cover the initial cost of purchasing the seeds and fertilizer for her cropland.

She, along with her group members want to say "Thank you" to Kiva and its lenders for this support.
