A loan of $1,650 helped to buy pigs and expand the pigpens.

Maria Rosa's story

María is 48 years old and has been married for 25 years. Due to lack of financial resources she was unable to finish her education, but she did complete primary school with a lot of effort and dedication. Because of her financial situation, which was not good, she had to work to help her husband out. She has three children under 18 years old. For the past year she has been living in an apartment with her husband and children in the city of Latacunga which is located in the Province of Cotopaxi in the Republic of Ecuador.

Maria is a very enterprising and hard-working woman who is very dedicated to her home. Since she was young she has worked in agriculture and is very concerned about being a support to her husband and helping with the household finances. That is why she is asking for a loan to expand the pigpens and buy more pigs. This will allow them to improve their lifestyle. Maria thanks Alternativa in Ecuador and Kiva for making it possible for her to grow in her working and personal life.
