A loan of $350 helped buy corn, peas, and hava beans.

Martha Marina's story

Martha is a member of the Dignity Communal Bank.

Martha is 43 years old, a widow, and has 4 children. Martha travels to the markets in the region twice a week where she buys various grains, potatoes, and anything else that she can sell. She then transports them to the city of Ayacucho to sell them to the merchants in the supply market in Ayacucho, an activity that her daughter helps her with. In addition, Martha has a store in her home where she sells groceries, vegetables, meat, and her daughter manages this business.

Martha needs a loan of 1,000 soles ($350), which will be used to buy corn, peas, and hava beans. Martha’s dreams are to build a second floor for her home, expand her business, and that her children one day become professionals.
