Gulaym's story

Gulaym is 40 years old, married, and has four children with her spouse. She has a high school education, and earns the primary source of income for her family by farming and raising livestock, which she began 20 years ago with the purchase of 5,000 som (KGS) worth of stock. Thanks to her tireless work Gulaym currently owns a milk cow, four sheep, and a plot of land of around 1.20 hectares where she grows vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, and cabbage each year for family use and sale. Her monthly income is 11,000 som (KGS). Gulaym came to Bai Tushum with the goal of further developing her business. She is asking for a loan to buy tomato, cabbage, cucumber, and bell pepper seed. She plans to invest earnings from used of the loan into further expanding her farming activities, and she also plans to save for construction of an unfinished house.
