A loan of $1,500 helped a member purchase of material to manage plastic waste.

Ndef Leng Group's story

The lack of respect for the rules of hygiene brings on illness. In the struggle against illhealth, the Ndef Leng group (http://www.sem-fund.org/mbamfr.php) conceived the idea of taking action against plastic waste in the village ecosystem and creating employment by transforming waste with the goal of better managing the impact of the ecology on tourism. We have taken courses in braiding to make rope, knitting and crocheting to make table place mats, and training in weaving to make doormats. This loan would permit us to purchase materials ( basins, brooms, sewing scissor kits, packs, cotton thread, liquid soap) which we would use to collect, store, and treat products. This would be done to take care of both the property in our environment and the well being of the population.
