A loan of $250 helped purchase chickens and cages.

Patricia's story

Patricia is a member of the communal bank “Los Jardines.” She lives in the province and region of San Martin in the Tarapoto district. She dedicates herself to the purchase and sale of chickens. She sells in one of the main streets at the No. 02 market in the city.

With this loan of $250, which will be repaid in 4 months, she will buy chickens. She has to make her purchases daily which means she will invest daily. She will also buy more cages for the chickens.

Patricia is 42 years old and lives with her husband and her two daughters. They work hard to get ahead so they have to sacrifice other necessities but slowly they are seeing the results. In the future she wants to expand and fix her house so that she can rent rooms and have her business in her home as her sales have diminished because of the increase in the price of chickens and because people are not buying like they used to.
