A loan of $1,150 helped for her business buying and selling traditional regional clothing.

Lucia's story

Doña Lucia A. P. lives in the village of La Ceiba, a municipality of Santa Catarina Ixtahuacan in the department of Sololá. She is 26 years old. Doña Lucia used to work in agriculture, preparing fields with slash and burn methods, which was a very risky job for her as a women. Thanks to her efforts she was able to leave that and begin a small business selling snow cones. With her service attitude, later on she was able to set up a business buying and selling traditional regional clothing. Her clientele increases every day and she has made improvements to her standard of living, perhaps not by 100 percent, but every day her goal is to become better and be responsible so that both her business and her income improves. For this reason, Doña Lucia has come to the offices of ASDIR to ask for a loan, to reach her goal and to improve her family´s standard of living.
