Ulpat's story

Ulpat is 57 years old, married, and the parent of seven children. All the children are married, live separately, self-sufficiently, and often visit their parents. Only the youngest son resides with the parents and helps around the farm.

Ulpat has a secondary education. She is retired and has the distinction of "Mother-Hero". As a main source of income for her family, Ulpat raises crops and livestock, having begun 33 years ago with 4,000 som KGS. Thanks to her hard work, Ulpat currently has: one dairy cow with calf, eight sheep, and also 1.35 hectares of land, on which annually she grows vegetables, watermelons, and corn for on-farm consumption and sale. Monthly income amounts to 15,000 som (KGS).

With the aim of further developing her farm, Ulpat turned to the bank Bai-Tushum and Partners for a loan - to purchase seeds for vegetables, watermelons and corn, and fertilizers.

Ulpat plans to invest income from the loan in propagating the quantity of domestic animals, and plans to save money for home repairs.
