Bir Maiya's story

Mrs. Bir Maiya M. is a grocery shopkeeper in the village of Khokhana. Khokhana is located in Lalitpur district. Most of the people in this region are engaged in farming. Mrs. M. opened her grocery store three years ago to improve the living standard of her family. She sells different verieties of grocery items such as rice, maize, biscuits, noodles, etc. in her shop. In this coming month, the Nepalese celebrate their main festivals, Dashain and Tihar. People buy lots of goods for these festivals, so Mrs. M. is requesting for Rs 15000.00 loan to invest in her shop to meet the increasing demand of her customers.

Mrs. M. lives in a single family with her husband and two children. Her husband, Mr. Dipendra M., works in a private office. Both her daughter and son are studying in Higher Secondary School.
