Mehrbonu's story

Mehrbonu is a smart and skillful sales woman in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. She is 36 years old. Mehrbonu sells traditional wedding clothes for brides. She has her own retail store at the central market of the capital where she primarily sells gold embroidered hats, robes and dresses with beautiful embroideries. Mehrbonu has managed her business with her husband for 8 years now. The store is popular as every newlywed woman wears these clothes for a while after the wedding. It is an ancient Tajik traditions which is still popular in modern Tajikistan.

Because of her store's popularity Mehrbonu wants to expand it. She would like to take out a loan so that she can purchase more wedding clothes for resale and earn more profits. Mehrbonu and her husband work tirelessly to support their four children. They have three sons and a daughter and they want to provide their children with a good education so that their future life is not full of hardships.
