A loan of $1,725 helped a member to buy salon equipment.

Serengeti Group's story

Easther, who is in her early 30s, is married and has one school child.

For five years now, she has been managing her life by running a beauty salon. Easther believes that Tujijenge, Kiva's partner, will be of great help to her as she will be able to offer better products and improve her customer service. She runs her business from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

From Tujijenge Tanzania, this is her fifth loan request. She will use the loan to buy salon working equipment. Her previous loans, all of which she paid back successfully, were used to buy business requirements like cosmetics, dyes, etc. Easther used her business profit to cover school fees and household expenses. She hopes to open a big salon.

Easther will share this loan with her loan group,”Serengeti,” which consists of two members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Easther, Henrishi
