A loan of $800 helped to buy a type of fishing net, better equip his boat, and to be able to hire additional hands to help him.

José Rubén's story

37 year old José is a hardworking person with scarce economic resources, as a result of which his parents were not able to offer him an education, leaving him unable to read or write. His partner helps him in every way possible, and she works as well as doing the housework. This is an enterprising and happy family with two small children.
José works as a fisherman and he learned this trade from his father when he was very young. He does this to support his family as it is a means by which he can get what is necessary for the household. He goes out to fish at night as this is when he can catch the best fish and his wife sells them to their neighbors as they are good fish and the price is good.
He is requesting a loan to buy a type of fishing net, to better equip his launch, and to be able to hire additional hands to help him so that he can catch more fish, improve his family's wellbeing, and cover the household expenses.
His dream is to improve his home and to be able to offer his children the opportunity to study so that they are well-prepared academically and have a stable future.
