She is the parent of one student who is regularly enrolled in university.
She was informed of new educational loan opportunities from IMF Hekima that can be used to pay school fees in advance. She will use this loan to pay her children’s school fees so that they will no longer be excluded from classes in the 2013-2014 school year.
This parent dreams of a better future for her daughter and would like to see her become a lawyer, business executive, university professor, member of parliament, etc.
In the end, she would like to recognize Hekima’s special initiative, and especially this social impact project during this period of reconstruction in the east of the country.
More information about this loan
HEKIMA is offering this loan to help this client, or a member of this client’s family, to access post-secondary education. Because tuition must be paid up front in HEKIMA’s operating area, where incomes are often small, it can be very difficult for students to pay tuition and access higher education. It allows students and students’ families to spread the cost of tuition out over 4-12 months. We believe this is the first loan product offering of its kind in the Kivu region.
Important InformationHEKIMA is a microfinance institution headquartered in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with branch offices in Goma and Bukavu. HEKIMA aims to contribute to the transformation of the economic, social, and spiritual lives of the economically active poor of the DRC. To this end, HEKIMA provides its clients with solidarity group loans to support income-generating activities. Despite ongoing instability and violence in its operating areas, HEKIMA continues to keep its doors open and provide credit and savings services for its over 90% female clientele.
