A loan of $550 helped to purchase paint and hire workers.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is 43 years old. She is a single mother of 2 daughters who live with her in a home made of quality materials. Elizabeth rents out a space in her home. She also sells replacement parts for small vehicles such as motorcycles and mototaxis at a shop her sister owns. This is her primary job. She previously had a business selling "pelado de arroz", a dish similar to paella, which she set up with her ex-husband. It provided solid income and allowed them to build a home from quality materials. One of her goals is to set up her own store selling auto parts in the future. This is her second loan with Kiva and she is thankful for the financial support that she receives in order to get ahead. She promises to make her monthly payments on time. She is requesting a loan of 2,000 Nuevos Soles to buy paint and hire workers to paint and remodel the locale she intends to offer for rent.
