Mr. Biju is the CEO of Urja Kendra head quartered in Gurgaon, India.

Urja Kendra has a social commitment in lighting lives in rural India with solar/renewable energy. They empower people by creating a sustainable ecosystem. Urja Kendra focuses on employment of retired Army employees and Village Level Entrepreneurs. Urja Kendra provides product training and small business skill training. A retired Army person can employ himself by selling solar lighting in rural area.

Urja Kendra creates local business hubs called Urja Kendra for Village Level Entrepreneurs. Each Urja Kendra runs on a franchisee model wherein local village people benefit from franchisees of Urja Kendra to sell solar lighting in their village. Franchisee earns profit on sale of solar lightings. Thus Urja Kendra creates job opportunities for rural India.

Urja Kendra has already had an impact of lighting 4000 households by providing safe and reliable energy. This has resulted in 1200 school kids benefiting from solar lighting.

Vision: To become product and services aggregation centres – creating a robust and effective rural delivery and distribution model , which will result in a strong enterprise with social impact and high profitability. Subsequently, become reverse logistics hubs , through which products can be sourced locally and delivered globally.
