Valbona is 36 years old and has two children aged 16 and 11. She has been operating a livestock and agricultural type of activity while her husband has been in construction. They sell the raw milk to a local dairy farm; as for the agriculture, Valbona’s focus has been more in planting & harvesting apple orchards and selling them at the market. The region where she comes from is known for the quality & also the quantity of apples; they have their own brand name. Valbona wants to add some sheep to her herd of cows; this is where she will invest this loan and she hopes that with the lenders’ help she will be able to achieve it.
About VisionFund Albania

Striving to improve child welfare, the organization offers a variety of loan products designed for rural, traditionally underserved clients and their families. These products include agriculture, business and household improvement loans, as well as "integration loans" targeted to help the poorest, most vulnerable Albanian households acquire value chain resources.
While VFA is focused on the empowerment of the poor overall, it pays special attention to women. About 60% of loans to entrepreneurs on Kiva go to women.
