A loan of $3,250 helped a member to buy a stall.

Suma Pankarita Ii Group's story

The Suma Pankarita group will begin its third cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Centro Focal de Los Andes. It is made up of nine members and is directed by a board where Gumercinda is the president. The businesses that the members of the community association manage are varied. Among them are: sweater-making, food sales, transportation services, sewing shop, lingerie sales, blanket weaving and flower sales.

The loan they are taking will benefit small businesses where Gumercinda is a member. She indicates that they joined Pro Mujer a year ago, joining on the invitation of a friend who is a member of the institution. Currently, she has a business selling food. She disclosed that she learned this business from her mother since it was a family business. After marrying, she decided to work independently.

The loan she will now tak is to expand capital (to buy a stall) that she will acquire in a market in her area of the city of El Alto and later she will sell her products from that space. This way of working allows her to generate resources to support her family since she lives with her partner and six children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the area of health that the institution offers.

In this group: Gumercinda, Silvia , Santos Cirilo, Carlita Sandra , Veronica , Monica Maribel, Noemi Eliana, Flora, Virginia
