A loan of $1,400 helped to buy a stall at the market.

María Del Carmen's story

María is 69 years old and studied up to sixth grade. She is married - her husband works as a farmer. María gets up with her husband at 5am in order to carry out her daily activities.

María makes a living selling seasonal fruits, a trade that she learned from her mother. María spends the day selling her goods at the local market while her husband is working on their plots of land. María's husband must walk three kilometres to arrive at the land and, in the afternoon, he collects the fruits that his wife will sell at the market the following day.

María is applying for a loan from CrediCampo in order to pay for a stall at the market. María currently sells her goods in the street and this is difficult as, if she has stock leftover at the end of the day, she must carry it home again.

María hopes that - with her income from growing and selling fruit - she will be able to repair the roof of her home. During the winter season water leaks through it and damages her stock.
