A loan of $450 helped buy a sewing machine for shoes, leather and fabric.

Kaly Sarqui's story

Mrs. Kaly belongs to the "Las Aves Fénix" Communa Bank, which is located at Jr. Huancavelica #152 in the Calleria District of Ucayali Department. She is 35 years old and the mother of two beautiful young girls, who are still dependents. She is married, and her husband is a math teacher. With her first loan from Manuela Ramos of 300 soles, she decided to invest in handmade macrame and crocheted bags to sell.

Kaly currently teaches a workshop, runs her bag-making business and also makes shoes for young women and girls. She usually wakes up early to make wallets, bags, shoes, and support her daughters.

With this loan of 1,300 soles (which she will repay in four months) Kaly will buy a machine to sew shoes, six meters of leather, six meters of clear lining, two meters of fabric, and different kinds of glue.

Kaly became a businesswoman with the help of her friends, Manuela Ramos, and above all, God.
