A loan of $350 helped to buy enough children's t-shirts for her business.

Esther's story

Esther, a 41-year-old widow, lives in New Kru town, which is one of the oldest communities in Liberia. The living conditions there are bit difficult due to the high rate of crime, few bathrooms, filthy conditions, and over population, but the good aspects are that rooms are a bit cheaper, there is the option of traveling, it contains one of the biggest markets in Liberia and the cost of food is lower. Esther has two children who are 21 and 23 years old. She is a high school graduate. She started a business selling children's t-shirts 15 years ago. With the loan proceeds she will buy enough children's t-shirts for her business. She started this business with a little money from her friends and learned this business from a friend. She enjoys how fast her goods sell out. Her dream is to open a shop.
