Carmen is 18 years old, single, and has a child. She lives with her parents and child in Ríos Province, Ventanas Canton.

She is a member of the Virgen de Guadalupe community bank, which is located in the parish of Puerto Pechiche belonging to Pueblo Viejo Canton.

Carmen makes a living growing and selling maize and rice, and rearing chickens.

She is requesting a loan to lease land and buy inputs such as fertilizers, compost, insecticides and corn for her hens. She does her buying and selling in Ventanas. Her aim is to prepare the land in time to achieve a good yield and increase output.
