Ruth's story

Ruth is a 29-year-old married woman. She has two children aged three and seven. She operates a retail shop where she sells sugar, rice, cooking oil, milk, rice and other items. She has been involved in this business for six years. Her primary customers are local residents.

She describes her biggest business challenge to be high prices of products which affect sales. She will use the KES 50,000 loan to buy a stock of sugar, rice, milk, bread and other items she sells. Her business goal is to own a wholesale within five years.

She hopes that in the future, she will own many businesses and help young people. She will use the anticipated profits to expand her business. She also supplies agricultural products to schools to earn extra income.
