A loan of $3,750 helped a member purchase wood.

Combattans De Sable Group's story

Nareus is the coordinator of his lending group, Combattants de Sable. He is married and has five children. He lives in the northern region of Haiti, where electricity is rare and drinkable water is very limited.

Nareus is a carpenter, and purchases wood that he turns into boards that he sells. Prior to this, he was a farmer. He hopes this loan will allow him to grow his business, and he has larger ambitions to build a grocery stand.

Other members of the Combattants de Sable group need loans for other commercial activities, such as the sale of cosmetics, soft drinks, etc. Nareus states that his ambition is to become a well known business man in the region in which he lives. Expanding his business, with help from Esperanza International, will allow him to build a grocery stand in the future.

In this group: Nareus, Seraphin, Louis, Fenelus, Augustin, Coissy, Samson, Joseph, Nicolas, Valcourt, Jacques, Josette, Andre, Joazil, Yvrany, Cheslie, Claudel, Bertrice, Judeline*, Nicolas, Petitfrere*, Julmice, Jacques, Cenatus*
