A loan of $2,575 helped to purchase agricultural supplies in bulk (manure, seeds, pesticides, fertilizer, etc.) and expand his crops.

Fabio Hernán's story

Fabio is a farmer from western Antioquia who is defined by his dedication and the care that he takes every day with his work so that he can move his children, who are 2 and 4 years old, and his beloved wife forward. He currently makes a living by working as a farmer. He learned this trade from his parents and, today, it is his principal source of income. This has motivated him to seek the help of a loan, so that he can confront a big challenge that he faced during his most recent harvest. The strong changes in climate have damaged his crops, causing economic losses.

The loan will be used to invest in the purchase of agricultural supplies in bulk (manure, seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, etc.) and expand his crops. This will allow him to increase his production and have the capability to sell more products, which will help him to regain his working capital to reinvest in his crops and pay for household necessities.

Fabio tells us that his only goal is to continue fighting for his children to enjoy a better lifestyle and education so that they can be suitable people. He also wants to instill in them from a young age a love for the countryside and agriculture so that they will continue with his legacy and never want for anything.
