Phoung's story

Mrs. Phoung S. was born in 1969 and lives in Tumpoar Village in the Kampong Cham Province. Her husband, Mr. Tuy Chen, is a construction worker who can earn three dollars per day which is too small of an income to meet the needs of the family. The couple has two children who are both enrolled in school.

She is a farmer who currently faces a small problem because her field has infertile soil which affects the harvest of her crop. She is requesting a loan to buy more fertilizer to improve her soil and would use the balance of the loan to buy chicken feed. Her husband is shown on the left of the photo.
