Rom's Group's story

Rom, 30, is married and lives with her husband and four children in a village of the Ek Phnom district of Battambang province.

She and her husband have been growing chilies and also working as paid workers for 10 years. The current business earns her about 20,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs. Rom’s group consists of two members who are female. She is a fourth-cycle client while her co-member is new with Kiva’s partner Vision Fund. She has successfully paid back the past loans, which have helped her family relieve its financial burden and improve its livelihood.

Now leading her group to ask for a loan, Rom is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers and seeds for her chilies. She hopes to earn more income so as to make a better living.
