Kin T. is 53 years old and has worked raising animals on her plot of land since 1983. On average, she makes US$2 each day. Her husband is an old farmer growing cucumbers and is able to make US$2 each day as well. This couple together has one child, who works at a garment factory. Farming is making less profit to support the family, so Kin has decided to take out a loan of US$1000 to build a big stand selling rice and food in front of a garment factory. This will allow her family to earn much more than farming and raising animals.
