Pady-Pady Group's story

In the photo are members of the Pady-Pady group. They are small scale business people based in Magburaka, a town in northern Sierra Leone. This is the first loan these entrepreneurs are borrowing from Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) and Kiva lenders. With this loan, they will be able to expand their individual businesses, to earn more profit, and consequently, to improve their standard of living. The featured leader of this group is Fatmata. Fatmata is 41 years old. She is married to a trader, and they have five children, four of whom are attending primary and secondary schools. Fatmata sells groundnuts. She has requested this loan in order to buy a large quantity of groundnuts to add to her current stock.
