Martina's story

Martina is 58 years old, studied until the second graD., is married and the mother of one son and lives in the Machacmarca community.

She has been a member of the Ciudad Nueva community bank for two years, which is loacated in the city of Machacmarca, Pilcuyo District, Collao Province. The first loan that she obtained, of 300 Nuevo Soles, was used to increase her capital to purchase one bull costing 800 Nuevo Soles. Since she was single she has liked engaging in business. She started selling sodas and after marrying she started her business of buying and selling cattle in markets of Pilcuyo, Acora, Llave, López, Huapaca, and San Miguel.

With this loan of 2,500 Nuevo Soles, which will be repaid in 4 payments, she will buy 2 bulls, one costing 1,600 Nuevo Soles and the other 1,200 Nuevo Soles, which will be sold in the aforementioned markets.

Her vision is to enlarge her shed to store more cattle.
