A loan of $2,000 helped to pay for three cows.

Hripsime's story

Hripsime is from Margahovit village in the Lori region. She lives with her husband, two sons, two daughters-in-law, and little grandchildren. The family owns a farm. It includes livestock of cows, pigs, piglets, and chickens as well as arable land where they cultivate potatoes, cabbage, and grass for feeding the livestock.

Hripsime's sons help their parents to sell the gathered harvest in local open markets.

Realizing that income from agriculture is very important for sustaining this big family's living, Hripsime has decided to apply for this loan. She plans to purchase three cows and enlarge the livestock.

As this is Hripsime's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products before because they have no credit history.

Hripsime and her family will be very grateful to lenders for their support and goodwill.
