A loan of $950 helped a member to buy seasonal fruit such as oranges in bulk.

Bushra's Group's story

Bushra is acting as group leader and taking the responsibility for her group members. This is Bushra's third loan; she has taken the responsibility on the behalf of all group members, and she affirmed that she will pay all installments on time because she wants to take out another loan in the future. Bushra is very thankful to Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan.

Bushra is a 48-year-old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is requested a loan for her husband’s fruit-selling business. Her husband owns a fruit shop in the community and participates in the household expenses. He likes to sell seasonal fruit, and right now he wants to buy oranges in large quantity to sell because it's their season and their price is very low.

Therefore, Bushra requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner so her husband can buy the oranges in bulk. She hopes that this loan will prove productive for her and she will soon be able to save a reasonable amount.
