Ana María's story

The loan group Virgen del Mar convenes every 15 days in the beautiful resort of San Mateo in the city of Manta, known for its beautiful beaches that are frequented all year round by national tourists and foreigners. In this area, the majority of the inhabitants are dedicated to fishing and maritime industries. Ana lives in this area - she is 32 years old, married and has two children who are 4 and 9 years old. Her older child is a student. Ana's husband is dedicated to fishing. Doña Ana has a grocery store in her house where she sells products such as rice, sugar, oils, and detergents, among other things. In spite of the fact that her store is small, her customers get everything. She works every day from 6am until 8pm and sometimes, until later. She has had her business for 7 years, it is through this business that she helps to improve things for her family. This loan will be used to better stock her store, to buy rice, sugar, oil, detergents, among other things. Ana was a founder of the Communal Bank more than 15 years ago, and she likes the support that the institution offers. Her dream is to give the very best to her children.
