A loan of $600 helped to buy two young bulls as, having collected the harvest, the pasture is good grazing cattle.

Marta Julia's story

Marta is 56 years old and never went to school. She has a partner, who works in agriculture and cattle raising. The couple has four children, none of whom lives at home as they are all married. Marta and her partner live alone.

Marta has worked in agriculture since she lived with her father, who taught her this trade. Marta remembers that he always said that she must learn to work so that she would not always depend on her husband. In addition to the agricultural work, for 20 years Marta has also been selling tamales, enchiladas, cakes and other items. Marta gets up at 4.30am in order to prepare her partner's breakfast and then she goes out to take the cattle to the pasture, 30 minutes away from the house. Marta sometimes stays to help her husband with the farming work if she is not going out to sell her foods. Two of the couple's children help Marta to prepare and sell the tamales.

This loan from Credicampo will be used to buy two young bulls as, having collected the harvest, the pasture is good grazing cattle.

Marta's dream is to buy a plot of land and to leave a space on it for each of her children to build their own houses. She also wants to buy four dairy cows in order to have another source of income. Marta also wants to pay off her loan in order to have the possibility of taking out a future loan.
