A loan of $1,250 helped a member to purchase the ingredients for making incense.

Timinadya Group's story

The group TIMINADYA is composed of four women, all married, who average 41 years of age and four children each. The women lives in traditional extended families in the DOUGOUNINA district of Bougouni City. They know one another through ties of community, friendship, and commerce. To bolster their financial capacity, so as to have better businesses, they joined the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso and are now on their third loan. The two previous ones were correctly repaid.

This group of women does commerce in incenses, just like DJENEBA, who is the second women standing from the right in the photo. With her loan, she intends to purchase diverse qualities of perfumes and more ingredients from Bougouni wholesalers for making incense. Accepting cash or credit from a mixed customer base, she makes her sales retail at the market and at home. She envisions making an average monthly profit of 45,000 francs CFA that will be invested in her business and used to pay back the loan.

In this group: Marie, Djeneba, Ramata, Badiallo
